It feels like its been a long, long week. I haven't been as bloggy as usual. Most days this week ended with me falling asleep in my rocking chair while nursing the baby. I'll give you the recap but its not overly exciting.
While the weather was nice, the kids and I spent almost all of our time outside. We planted flowers, pulled weeds and then planted more flowers. (We've been helping Grandma with her flower beds too). I mowed the yard then the next day it looked overrun with dandelions. (Very frustrating!) So, it was off to the store to buy something to kill the dandelions with. But, I haven't been able to kill those pesky things yet. According to the bag you have to spread it and then let it sit for two days without rain. Well, the good ole Indiana spring weather is not cooperating with me. Or maybe God is on the side of the dandelion?
There were the routine shopping trips and other errands, load after load of laundry, (the hamper overflows as I write this)pick up toys, pick up toys, pick up toys. You get the picture.
Friday and Saturday were fun days. I went to a friends house for 2 sessions of group scrapbooking. I got 14 pages done for Trey's book. I felt accomplished and had a good time. Adult conversation was totally worth the babysitter fee.
The craziest thing I did this week was to go to jail. No, I did not get arrested for speeding while texting..... I went to jail as a nurse, as Rex's nurse. Now, there is a whole blogs worth of stories waiting to happen. I actually had a good time. It felt good to put on my scrubs again. It felt good to do some vital signs. I even mixed and gave a few injections. This kind of nursing has its perks. I asked Rex where I should chart these things. He says not to worry about it. He will just add it in as part of his dictation. What?!? A nursing job without paperwork? Can this be real? Better still, it was a strange type of quality time with my husband. I say strange because most people don't bond over stinky jail birds but Rex and I kind of click when we work together. Its hard to explain. Its just nice for a change. We never thought that opening our own practice would lead to care of
prisoners but it is turning out to be a good business move. Its amazing where God will lead you when you let him. More jail stories to follow. I found myself laughing under my breath several times. I am thinking that inmates are very similar to the annoying pregnant patients I used to deal with. You'll see.....
Time to end this. I have to go supervise a cleanup project that will probably get its own blog spotlight.
The Thing I Have Been Wondering
-
It has been a rough year. That is no lie. We have had one challenge after
another, and if this were a dark comedy one would recognize that it has
been fun...

I'm so glad you blog. It seems to be my "addiction" as my son told everyone today at my nephews baptism. My youngest sister wants me to get started on facebook. I can't give up my bloggers for facebook. I feel too loyal. She proceeded to tell me all the people I know on facebook. Maybe, just maybe one of these days I'll get up the courage to check it out. I'm glad you had a good week and a good Sunday. Hope to hear from you this week. Take care.
Marcy, you should check out facebook. You'll find your blogger friends there too.I love my blog world best but I'm learning about facebook too.
